Central West End Church partners with our neighbors at Centennial Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in their annual MLK celebration. This year’s theme is “We’re In It Together.” Please join us as we gather with Centennial Christian Church and other community organizations for this year’s events.

This is a wonderful opportunity for the church to gather with other members of our community for a special time of remembrance, but even more an embrace of hope for the future and a way of embodying Dr. King’s vision of beloved community. PAPER TOWEL & TOILET PAPER COLLECTION CAMPAIGN
As part of the MLK services, all partnering organizations and their community members are encouraged to purchase and donate paper towels and toilet paper to be given to residents of Doorways. Please order from the Amazon wish list that has been established at the link below (all orders will be shipped to CWE Church’s office).
MLK EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE: Saturday, January 18

This will be a time of educational presentations and a panel discussion. All are encouraged to attend! There will also be a special art performance by the Black Repretory Theater. Lunch is provided!
DAY OF SERVICE - ASSEMBLING AND PACKING: FRIDAY, JANUARY 24

In preparation for the MLK Day of Service the following day, come help prepare hygiene bags to be distributed to residents of the Doorways community.

We will partner together to serve the residents of Doorways, a local nonprofit that strives to improve the quality of life of people affected by HIV, illness, and poverty, by advancing their stability and well-being through housing, health, and empowerment services. Activities will include an MLK program, lunch, live band, game time, MLK trivia, & prizes.
